Abstract

Families, as the basic nucleus of society, promote the development of diverse personal skills. In this context, this study analyzed the family social climate in communities in Colombia, Cuba and Peru. For this purpose, a qualitative approach was used and interviews were conducted with the participation of five families from each country. It was found that migration is a frequent phenomenon that has affected both the structure and dynamics of families, testing their resilience. There have been advances in parenting styles, which are more democratic, encouraging children’s autonomy and the expression of emotions. In addition, there is greater participation of women in supporting the household.
